This is not so much a review of the film itself, but more of a reflection on David Lynch’s body of work. While WILD AT HEART isn’t his best film in my book, I’d say it’s the one which (along with the Twin Peaks universe) best displays my points here. Some thoughts on what seems to be a consensus with people who are overly critical of this film:

I’ve seen plenty of reviews bring up the “redundant” editing or “over the top” score as technical/structural issues. “It doesn’t go anywhere,” has also been a common complaint. sidenote: hey! I guess I’m officially back to *watching movies* again.

There are a lot of unrealistic things going on in this movie which I don't mind brushing aside but Annie not knowing who Leonardo DiCaprio was, in the late 90s at that, is beyond outrageous.
