Tenet 2020
One of the strangest senses of mixed feelings I’ve ever had after walking out of a film. Tenet at times feels fantastic, but at points feels like Chris Nolan has well and truely jumped the shark. Delving into anything regarding this films plot or characters starts heading into spoiler territory, so there isn’t too much I can say.
Nolan has always managed the balance between complex but understandable narratives well with films such as Inception and Interstellar, but with ‘Tenet’…

Am I still allowed to love this film? How can I not la de dah
Maybe this was a product of Woody Allen’s self-indulgence and narcissism...and he really is just a sleazy, conceited asshole. But god, it works in his favor. Every single line in this film is natural, quotable, and clever.
Oh and Diane Keaton is a vision.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker 2019
‘The Rise of Skywalker’ provides a clear demonstration of what happens when a studio doesn’t establish a clear vision and direction for a trilogy narrative, seeing the ‘Skywalker Saga’ end on a messy and sometimes laughably bad note.
I’ll get my few positives for this film out of the way to begin with, as there really wasn’t that much. Visually the film has some stunning imagery, along with some great locations and a couple of engaging fight scenes to go…
