    A symphony of sadness and facades, of the illusions we cast to cover our despair. A film about performance in life, and how empty we often feel in roles we’d rather not play. Borderline disliked it the first time around. After an impulse-rewatch at 3 AM, I can safely say this is some of Malick’s finest work. Another affirming visit to the Church of Malick. Let’s wander the street of life and swim in the ocean of our soul. Now I’m bullshitting, it’s way too late, goodnight.
