Its always great to discover something that existed for ages and you never knew about but you absolutely love! That’s what happened to me and this film. Got it recommended by a friend, but it took a while before I watched it.. So glad I did.
A film so atmospheric, paranoid and chaotic about religious mass hysteria. Set in medieval times but turns out to be such a timeless story. Beautifully shot in amazing technicolor. The stunning chaos that unfolds has an mesmerizing effect which grabs you and won’t let go until the very end. Paranoia and mass hysteria can be the most horrifying part of human nature, this film showcased that to perfection.
