Re-watched this on blu-ray with my wife. I have to say, I'm glad I got to experience this movie for the first time in a theater. Upon a second viewing, I still love it, but having used up the element of surprise, I found a few things that bothered me this time that didn't the first go around. Namely two things: the amount of vaping (i.e. any vaping) and the fact that Vos only studied Colin for like one afternoon, and apparently only while he was at home, to learn how to impersonate him; that's just not enough to figure someone out. Minor quibbles, but still. It's still a pretty damn good sci-fi horror movie. The gruesome violence mixed with the sometimes hallucinatory sexuality give this film a distinctly (and appropriately) Cronenbergian edge. And the ending still hits like a sledgehammer! Brandon Cronenberg basically reimagined Inception as if it were directed by his dad in the '90s, and I'm here for it.
