I never knew I wanted THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE set in the witches house from HANSEL & GRETEL before today but now I have seen something similar I can’t imagine my viewing history without it. A brooding dark slow burn that really wants to provide its viewers with a well cooked meal of climax satisfaction. The performance of Barbara Kingsley as warm receiver Karen is fantastic and will remain with me for a while. The film does stutter at times and does find itself fighting against the occasional lull that seems to come from the reluctance of editing down certain scenes. Overall though this raw, gritty and dark tale of hopelessness and depravity is well worth a fix for horror hounds.
