i am simply falling head over heels at every 19th-century england piece there is, from bridgerton to this simply marvelous, wonderful film. if i could describe this film, it would be the flapping of cream coloured cloths drying in the early morning, dew at the precipice on its own brightly coloured leaf, the titillating flap of a dress at one of many dances, a hushed whisper of the quiet promise of boundless, poetic love.
and i love, i love, i love you.
i really wanted to love this movie but i was thoroughly underwhelmed. had to pause it 3 times to consider even continuing.
i laugh at the number of white people she encounters in bali and india.. the movie seemed to revolve around white people and white people only. the real locals, the indonesians and indians were only peripherally there so the boring protagonist could sweep them off their feet and charm them and their lives.

Marriage Story is definitely one of the best movies of 2019. The raw emotion in its scenes drove me to tears. Noah Baumbach did an incredible job in portraying divorce in a moving yet realistic manner. The rationalization for both sides felt real and reasonable, Nicole and Charlie were just flawed people with mostly good intentions. And yet, divorce can break even them, and show their ugly sides.
The ending of the movie left a bittersweet tang in my mouth.…
