Connor Carey’s review published on Letterboxd:
Follows pretty well the same structure as the first film, and overstays its welcome, but "The Conjuring 2" is still a really solid and very well made horror sequel. James Wan continues to show how well he knows the genre, and delivers a lot of effective jump scares and chilling moments. The performances are also stronger in this one particularly by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga who's characters get a lot more development this time around. As for flaws, I didn't find the overall movie to be as scary or clever as its predecessor, and I left the theatre a lot more calm unlike I did with the first film. But as a whole I really enjoyed "The Conjuring 2" it's a well made, and surprisingly smart horror movie that deserves to be seen.
