This feels like it was made by somebody who has never seen a Star War? Not even trying to be mean, that's the genuine feeling I got: it's playing with the vocabulary and aesthetics of the Star Wars universe, but it doesn't seem to know what the deal is with any of the things it's playing with. I'm increasingly getting the feeling that I am not in the target demo for these things. They feel less like playful experimental Star Wars anime shorts and more like anime shorts sponsored by Star Wars™.
I am over the moon. The first movie my dad and brothers and I have watched all together in at least a year (possibly since the end of 2019?), outside on a chilly spring night on a rickety projector screen with a barely audible Bluetooth speaker that required us to turn on the subtitles like fancy lads while we hooted and hollered and laughed and laughed and laughed.
