EDIT: Thank you to everyone who has wished me and Erica well in our relationship. This review is the reason I met my girlfriend twitter.com/BenjaminCrew1/status/1389305911253078019

"Well that my friend, is the magic of the movies."
I went into this expecting it to be a hit piece on Welles, Hearst, Hollywood in general, and on the moguls and men in power who take down the dreams of every idealist.
Yes, it is all those things. It is filled with anger,…

I was ten years old, and very clearly remember still recovering from Hurricane Katrina the previous summer. As a result of the storm’s destruction, there still wasn’t much to do in my town on the weekends and a lot of time was spent at Blockbuster. My mom asked if we wanted to go out for a movie and I told her we didn’t have to, Cartoon Network had been running ads all week for this anime guy called Miyazaki. March…

    Peak "Get his ass" cinema.
I am so underseen on Jackie's filmography and this movie makes it clear that I need to remedy that.
    So much damn fun.

There's a joke where Professor X finds out his old booty call has a child and then awkwardly asks.
"Does your child have a husband?" Then quickly corrects himself to say, "Do you have a husband?"
This seems like funny, awkward comedy until you remember the movie was directed by Bryan Singer.
Fucking mess but also hilarious. The sight of Olivia Munn strutting around Auschwitz in a skimpy leather sword lady outfit sums up the experience of watching this.
Fox had such a good thing going with Days of Future Past and then, as is X-Men tradition, they ruined it.

I was reading through the top reviews and one 5 star said "Communism will prevail. Thank you Beyoncé."
This is one of the most corporate, capitalist films of the year - it's manufactured empowerment.
The scenes literally transition over audio from the soulless-cash grab Lion King remake while Beyonce styles African looking dresses, draping herself in culture for only seconds rather than ever truly focusing on it.
If someone loves this film I have no right to tell them they're…

Every president should be mandated by law to star in a remake of this film.
