It’s not entirely great on the overall narrative, but I do like Kate Beckinsale’s character here and the creative mechanic this character has. Which feels inspired by Crank (2006). And man, Kate Beckinsale is uhh very, very attractive in this. Like, goddamn. It’s honestly a bit of a dumb action movie and you can tell it doesn’t take itself too seriously. It feels like a dreadful birth of an amalgamation of A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), Lights Out (2016), Basket Case (1982), giallo, and a typical slasher in general. The final act alone is worth seeing this…

The fact that this was done over Zoom during a pandemic lockdown is quite impressive. Uses the atmosphere of mere online video chatting while keeping it tightly tense from start to finish. Just wish it was longer! This is a fun one! One of my favorites during this god awful year.
