Hey, do you like the color gray? The color brown? Countless backgrounds and sets of gray walls? Characters with the emotional depth of a 1200 foot Sandworm? Well, if you do, oh boy, I got a movie for you. It’s called Dune 2021!

Sorry people. This sucks. I wish I had read the book before seeing these Dune adaptations because after seeing them, I have about 0 interest in the story. I found this harder to follow than Dune 1984.…

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Carey Mulligan is literally the only woman in the world asking for it. Props to Carey Mulligan for letting McLovin slober all over her as well. I do think this is a very well directed film. The editing, the music, the lighting, and the overall presentation is extremely clean. However I fuckin hated Cassandra. She’s full of hate, over-emotional, and “childish” as Nina‘a mother puts it. I’ll start off by saying that any guy who takes advantage of a drunk…

Excellent movie. I tried watching this a few years back and I just didn’t like the weird cinematography/editing. Maybe I’m just now more cultured but I dug it. I understand why it’s being used and it fits well with such an insanely told tale. Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Downey Jr were absolutely hilarious. An example of over-acting that just works. Great violence and death and the writing, especially in the end and the interview, is so damn beautiful. Excellent film.

The stuff I watch late at night…. Pretty decent kids movie. Childish, but fun. Hard to really focus on but I read the books at one point and so it holds a special place in my heart.

Not really as bad as people make it out to be. I haven’t read the book and I’m sure if I had this movie would have been a lot worse. You can tell that it’s a longer story cut down immensely for the sake of the runtime. Regardless, with the awful early 80’s effects and the timeframe Lynch had to work with to re-create such a big story I feel he didn’t do the worst job. The sets are really…

This is my second time watching this film. I really enjoyed it. It’s a good movie to just kind of vibe along with. Tarantino does a great job bringing the late 60’s back to life. The characters and the overall presentation and direction are so well crafted. I really like the story of Rick and Cliff and the movies they make. I like the movies within the movie and the scenes of Leonardo acting within his Rick role. The ending is hilarious and so beautifully violent. Brad Pitt and Leonardo Di Caprio do so well in their respective roles and really bring the film to life.
