Cusack’s review published on Letterboxd:
I’m giving this movie a 1/5 strictly for the visual effects and animation. The rest of this movie is garbage. This is literally 2 hours of Warner Bros flexing their IPs and ownerships of various titles (DC, Harry Potter, King Kong etc). Almost all of it is non-beneficial to the plot.
Don’t get me started on Lebron James. Warner Bros got on their knees and sucked him off extra long for this movie. I already hate the dude because of his Twitter and just how out of touch with reality he is. With that being said he’s definitely a bad actor, but I sort of admire his attempt here doing something he sucks at. He’s not an actor at the end of the day. I also don’t understand the whole “King” thing. Calling him “King James” and his movie son, “Prince”. Am I missing something? If someone wants to explain that shit to me, please do. Last time I checked he throws balls in a hoop.
Another thing is this movie is just straight visual pollution. I do like the visual effects and thought that team did a great job but the whole movie is a fuckin eyesore.
And for the icing on the cake, this movie is so bad even Don Cheadle seems like a B grade actor. His performance was abysmal.
Overall, this movie sucks and you’re better off watching the first one. Michael Jordan will forever be a greater rolemodel than Lebron James ever could be.
