What can I say about this absolute classic that hasn't already been said? Only my thoughts, I guess. This being the umpteenth time I've watched it, I still notice things I didn't notice the last time. This time, ever after dozens of viewings, I got really tense watching De Niro as someone would say something smartass to him, and he'd stand there just looking at them, sometimes smiling, sometimes not. They'd apologize (I'm looking at you, Harvey Keitel) several times,…

Excellent entry in the Predator franchise, with a group of soldiers/mercenaries/killers, etc. finding themselves parachuted onto a strange planet after waking up in freefall! It's sort of a retread of the types found in the original Predator, with the guy with a minigun, the South American female freedom fighter, the dirty-talking guy (the always-great Walton Goggins) who's a prisoner/killer, and several more. Although not the first film to attempt to film Mary Shelley's classic horror story, this is certainly the most famous. It is a classic in all categories, with acting, mood, lighting, writing, direction, etc. being top notch. An ambitious scientist, Henry Frankenstein (Colin Clive), along with his hunchback assistant Fritz (Dwight Frye) rob from graves, steal body parts, and everything imaginable until they have stitched together the huge body of a "human" that Frankenstein intends to bring to life. This…

Here it is. After seeing this a zillion times, I need to review this gem. It's only one of the very best movies EVER! Kurt Russell is the swaggering blowhard, bumbling but heroic truck driver, Jack Burton, who gives out advice from the CB in his semi-truck The Pork Chop Express, and that's between adventures. The adventure we see takes place in, of course, Little China in San Francisco, where Jack helps his best friend Wang Chi (Dennis Dun) try…
