DallasFrance’s review published on Letterboxd:
I find scenes where a journalist bashes into the glass door of a courthouse records room at 5:01 pm more thrilling than most climactic gunfights. I find scenes where the editor’s ex-friend thrusts a document back and snarls, “Get out of my house” more chilling than a bug-eyed villain with a butcher knife. I find scenes where one lawyer out-files-a-motion another lawyer more enthralling than a five body count barroom brawl.
Spotlight succeeds because its most melodramatic moment is when it shows the newspapers being printed the day the story breaks.*
