24 Frames

24 Frames ★★★★

24 Frames is a worthwhile experiment by the late, great Abbas Kiarostami. This film is comprised of 24 4.5 minute frames, where the concept is that they animate what happens before and after a photograph, not just the photo itself. It becomes a final statement for one of the cinema's (and photography's) true artists.

The final frame was deeply moving, if not a final cinematic joke by the Iranian auteur. I appreciated it, and I'll miss this man and wish he could have made more cinema.
