I was so wrong about this before. Yes it’s goofy and rough around the edges, but it’s also enormously fun. It’s an 80s teen movie full of wacky recreations of Universal Monsters/Hammer Horror. What’s not to be charmed by?
The Mummy segment is my favorite, and the torture sex dungeon one is still a super weird choice.
I honestly don’t know if it was the directing or the inexcusably dim bulb on my theater’s projector, but Snake Eyes really hurt my eyes.
Despite his very uneven American accent, I liked Henry Golding in the lead, but I’d much rather see him as James Bond.
And I don’t know how you manage to make Samara Weaving bad in a movie, but this one pulls it off.
I might give it another chance at home when it’ll no doubt…
