The nod to the original book release story is amazing and the new ending is fun and really good. Very 2020. Meryl Streep is great as always.

1. Half of the jokes are slapstick-ish and don’t hold up, and the other half is only for ex-USSR people to understand.
2. The girl is actually saving herself so- hooray 60s feminism 🥳🙏🏼
3. One of Gaidai’s tactics is having one (TOTALLY OUT OF CONTEXT) song that is just there to make the film more memorable and loved.
