"Y'all jokers mus be crazy"
Oh Suicide Squad, why must I be the only one who seems to understand you? Oh no, I shouldn't say that, there are others who see this movie as I do. A super fun roller coaster ride of entertainment that I was so glad held up to my expectations.
Everyone seems to be upset with the opening, the glorious 20 minutes that introduce us to some of the most whacko characters that DC has to offer. I however did not, it was something that I have not seen in a long time, if not ever. Having a role call, or kind of a fighter walking out to their theme is the best way for this movie to start. I was locked in from the start.
From then on, people complain about the mission that the Squad then goes on, alright I can see why people are complaining, but I am not. The mission is not what the movie is about, it's about the characters and the characters are where the movie really shines. The mission gets a bit serviceable at times, but the villain is a perfect choice. Whom I will not spoil for it was not spoiled for me.
Alright lets get into the characters. There are a lot, 11 to talk about. I'm not gonna talk that many. I'll talk about 3.
Harley Quinn, AKA Harleen Quinzel. Was the most anticipated characters to be introduced into the DCEU. She has never been my favorite DC villain really ever, but she has start to grow on me. I will say Margot Robbie was born to play her, wow just wow.
Deadshot, AKA Floyd Lawton. What a badass character that they have on their hands here, and he was played amazingly by Will Smith. Welcome back Will Smith I missed you. He has the most backstory of anyone in the squad, and he has a sweet scene with a certain superhero that was probably one of the best scenes in the movie,
Killer Croc, AKA Waylon Jones. He is my favorite member of the squad walking in, and of course he is one of the lesser used members of the squad. He does get his moments, but he is under used in my opinion. Just my opinion though, if he doesn't need to be used, he doesn't need to be used.
Overall I had a Hell of time watching this movie. Complain about this movie if you want, but this summer has been a disappointment and this (Along with Star Trek) gave me hope that this year will get better.
