Was very affected by the sequence in which Kyle buys a bottle of bootleg corn liquor from a dive bar, and when the barman asks him why he’s not sipping bourbon in a country club, he says he prefers this as it reminds him of his youth, and I don’t recall seeing or thinking about alcoholism as a literal form of transportive nostalgia before.
