DavidClarke’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is a really stupid movie but I liked The Shining scene. The movie needed more scenes. Not even scenes like that, just more proper scenes that tell a complete story.
Alan Silvestri is good.
Holy shit the birthmark thing was laughably bad, like did this movie get a simple edit?? Who the fuck thought that was ready for primetime?
Turning the Iron Giant into a killing machine is perverse and offensive.
I can’t say I didn’t have a bit of fun, but my groan-to-fun ratio was leaning too far to groan. For a movie that supposedly is about the dangers of nostalgia, it sure did give us a lot of bullshit nostalgia.
