Wild Things was always a film that thought it was cleverer than it really was. John McNaughton's erotic thriller has that neo-noir feel, a fresh-faced cast of pretty Hollywood stars, and more twists than a pretzel stand. One too many for me, and even though there's not a redeemable character in the whole film, this will be remembered for one thing.......the sex scenes.

Neve Campbell was hot shit back in 1998, she'd just come off the back of two Scream…

It's testament to the resilience shown by Quentin Tarantino to become a filmmaker that he ended up selling this script to a major studio in an effort to finance and direct Reservoir Dogs without interference from anyone. Over the years I've seen documentaries on The Exorcist, seen interviews…

It's been funny how the years have shaped my view of this psychological thriller from Jonathan Demme. Having seen Manhunter and Brian Cox's incarnation of Hannibal Lecter onscreen for the first time, I wasn't overly impressed with either Cox or Mann's film which somehow never quite gripped me the way I thought it might. In 1991 however, Demme's film won the five big ones at the Academy Awards, Best Film, Actor, Actress, Director, and Adapted Screenplay, and it gave a…
