The most beautiful movie I've ever seen. With impeccable cinematography and immaculate directing. But most of all, the story is simple yet indescribable. Showing the dynamics of love in such a romantic and sensual way without showing them ever kiss or barely touch. The sense of belonging and wondering if they've fallen in love or whether their vulnerability got the best of them. And yet you can still sense their sadness and regret when they let one another go. You can see the jealousy in Chow's eyes and the loneliness in Su's body language. I've never witnessed something that should be so simple but is one of the hardest movies to describe, but I tried.

In The Mood For Love may not be the most risk-taking movie, but it is complete and utter perfection.

“He remembers those vanished years. As though looking through a dusty window pane, the past is something he could see, but not touch. And everything he sees is blurred and indistinct.”
