Dereck’s review published on Letterboxd:
It’s just as perfect a fourth time.
For the past few weeks, I’ve:
•Been listening to the soundtrack nonstop
•Watched videos/read up on the Manson family
•Not been able to stop thinking about this film
I can’t wait to check this out again and again for years to come. I really think that this might be Tarantino’s masterpiece just for how carefully he sets up every scene.
There’s a few moments of foreshadowing that I wanted to point out:
•When Rick is first rehearsing his lines in the pool, the final line (that begins to fade) as the camera moves over to Roman and Sharon, foreshadows the events we are expecting to unfold.
•During the montage of Sharon and her friends hanging out at the house on that famous August night, the television has a quick scene where the announcer says, verbatim, “and now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for!”
