Well....this is the second time this week one of my favorite directors dissapoints me....these are different times...
After "Pig" I found some new respect for Nicolas Cage, that combined with Sion Sono? This had to be awesome!
But it was nothing but your avergage stage-play wrapped in an Easter-Western jacket....with no substance whatsoever.
It has some hilarious moments, all coming from Cage tho. Like epic one-liners such as "I'll karate chop ya!!!!" or "Hi-fucking-yah!!!"
    But man....is this a boring snooze-fest....Look…

It's just so simple, assemble a crew, get a briefcase, tentions run high, can't trust this one, can't trust that one, bang, bang, car chase, boom!

You gotta love it, I did, and I still do after all this time.
Brilliant cast, I mean, you got Reno, De Niro, Jonathan Pryce, Natascha McElhone, Sean Bean and Stellan Skarsgard...what more do you want?

It's straight to the point here. No fancy special effects or color corrections, just good choreography and stuntwork.
I've said it back then, and I'll say it again, "Ronin" has the best car chases, period.

A great improvement from the previous installments, and I had many chuckles, especially during it's opening scene which I personally thought was...the best part of the entire movie.
But hold your horses, I'm not shitting on this movie. For what it was, it was enjoyable and definitely one of the greatest DCCU movies to date, but I also need to be brutaly honest here. Was it all that great? To me, it seems this is a clear case over over-hyping…
