• Spider-Man 3

    Spider-Man 3

haven’t seen any of the Raimi Spider-Man movies in a long time.
Omg look, I can look past the dance sequences, it’s the freaking misogyny is all over this frak’n movie. Peter Parker/Spider-Man is a dick and that’s before the symbiote takes over him. Also Peter doesn’t tell MJ he was possessed by an alien creature and let’s not forget he hit MJ! And doesn’t apologize to her and people will defend this cause he possessed..NO!!! It’s not right at…

  • The Harder They Fall

    The Harder They Fall

This is my top movie of 2021, a stylized black western with real life black gunslingers told in a fictitious story, that’s on the level of Posse.

Jonathan Majors is hella great in his performance of Nathaniel “Nat” Love, seeing him playing a charismatic, calm yet menacing (when he needs to be.) anti hero.
Zazzie Beats and Regina King oh my god these women killed it! Regina King had me shaken, especially one scene involving her telling a cold story…

  • Dune

Upon further rewatching, I had to change my score. This movie is so damn good I had to go out and buy the books.
I had to wait a few hours to think about how to approach writing about a movie that I only know from the 1984 David Lynch’s Dune.
This is a long 2 hours and 35 minutes, you can feel that tension and the weight of the story. This is definitely more of a intellectual Star Wars…

  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

I definitely showed up for Shang-Chi like I’ve done for Black Panther.
The visuals is so damn good and there’s definitely different scenes that are beautiful, I know people dislike the CGI fest that tends to happen in MCU movies but for me this one made sense like; Endgame level of it made sense for all the CGI.
Tony Leung approach to being a villain in the MCU is now in my top three of MCU villains.
    Awkwafina had some…

  • Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones

Okay now I need to know more about why George Lucas wanted Hayden Christensen playing a man child. Like seriously every time Anakin is in the scene he’s throwing fits, I’m legit wondering what Padme sees in Anakin
They only see that had me on his side was him looking for his mother, also Yoda is sensing Anakin’s and doesn’t say anything to Mace or Kenobi.
True villain in this, Jar Jar….bruh!!!!

  • Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace

Upon this rewatch, I really don’t find Jar Jar Binks as annoying, also just noticing some things that Rise of Skywalker referenced later. Another thing I realized I missed remembered was that Darth Maul did speak.

  • The Phantom

    The Phantom

I have a definite love for movies set in the 1930/40s and I don’t know why but seeing a pulp comic hero like The Phantom, to which I was first introduced to with the cartoon The Phantom 2049. Helped me be prepared to see this which came out two years after The Shadow with Alec Baldwin.
Billy Zane nails Kit Walker, I’m so mad there’s isn’t a sequel nor a reboot in the works. Kristy Swanson and Catherine Zeta-Jones kicked…

  • The Shadow

    The Shadow

This is one of my favorite comic book movies ever! It pulpy like the comics, love the 1930s aesthetic, that Art Deco design. Alec Baldwin is at his most smoldering in this movie, Penelope Ann Miller oh my goodness just gorgeous. Now I can definitely admit there’s a lot of horribly written Asian representation that definitely wouldn’t fly today, still some form of entertainment.

  • Mortal Kombat

    Mortal Kombat

Now even though there’s problems with the execution of the story, using a original character than a established Mortal Kombat character and the HUGE sequel baiting at the end aside, I enjoyed the movie. It’s violent, the fatalities were awesome, Kano stole the movie even though I wish it was Johnny Cage but que sera sera.
If it gets a sequel I feel some characters got to die and really lean in heavy with the MK lore, cause it was really lacking in this.

  • Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)

Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

The action is phenomenal, Jurnee Smollett is a damn knock out as Black Canary, Rosie Perez kicked so much ass but, I would’ve liked to see the strong level headed Renee Montoya. Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress was barely in the movie, but she steals the scenes when she’s in them.
My only other gripes are using Cassandra Cain in a mirror mirror flip on her was lame there’s other DC characters that would’ve been better to use.
Ewan McGregor was a excellent villain, just didn’t like him being a whiny little b**ch and I’m glad Black Mask got killed off at the end.

  • The A-Team

    The A-Team

I know people hate on this modern take of Joe Carnahan’s take on the 80s classic but this is just so much good/bad fun!

  • The Haunting of Hill House

    The Haunting of Hill House

Like the suspense of the series, feel like the wrong person got killed off but it didn’t derail the series for me.
