“Don’t you first amendment me!”
Sure, it’s so on the nose at some points, and it’s totally over the top and cheesy, but I guess that’s the point, and I was on board through most of it! It’s satirising American politics but not so much that someone Like me, from the UK, isn’t lost, and most of the humour did land for me. There was a few moments that the jokes perhaps pushed a little too hard and on the nose for me, but for the most part it was a pretty fun little action thriller.
There’s some great action as well, especially the final fight sequence, it was shot really nicely. Some of these action scenes do work more than others though. There’s a lot going on, and it doesn’t for a second take a moment to breeze. Maybe the plot is fairly flimsy, sure, but it’s a fun ride till the end.
