This is actually kind of fucked up. Not the movie, but how it re-tells the story of a real-life murderer and changes it to ‘they lived and loved each other happily ever after’ and it’s not his fault, because the “the devil made him do it”.
Not just incredibly disrespectful to the man who lost his life, because of Arne Johnson, but also incredibly disrespectful to his family members. Imagine a movie gets made about your own murder and the movie tells it in a way that doesn’t make the murderer in any way responsible, but also make us sympathize with his “love story” and makes us wish that he won’t be convicted.
Fuck this shit. Kind of perfectly shows how much thought the filmmakers put into this movie
