Steven Soderbergh is tied with Lynch, PTA and the Coens as my favorite living director. And I can confidently say that this is one of, and I may be speaking too soon here but, perhaps his greatest film yet. I was utterly enthralled the entire way through. And that’s what Soderbergh does so best, taking minimal sometimes even not that interesting material, and elevating it to new heights with his impeccable directing, shooting and editing. But what makes No Sudden…

Hayao Miyazaki has done it. I figured there was a chance that one of his films would become an instant favorite of mine before I dove into his work, and I was right, Kiki's Delivery Service is one of my new favorite films.

Utterly transfixing. Denzel, McDormand and Coen have all never been better. Wow. Alex Hassell supporting mvp.

Big fan of all three of the headliners of this one and they were all of course fantastic, Buckley for the MVP, but it’s Gyllenhaal’s retrained yet confident work behind the camera that makes this story work so well. Such a raw film about selfishness and choices, none of which I was expecting it’s honestly best to go into this knowing as little as possible. Yeah I really liked this one.

I often forget about how I should count my blessings that we live in a time where Spike Lee is making movies. With Da 5 Bloods he delivers one of his absolute best joints, and I do not say that lightly. Featuring some of the absolute best editing, camerawork, and direction of his career, the film has so much to say and is filled to the brim with incredible performances. Netflix MUST push for Delroy in the best leading actor…
