I just vibe with cuaron's directing style so much. His lingering camerawork is given so much personality where it feels that we are an invisible character walking around and observing the gorgeous world through his lens. It really involves us in the relationship of the characters, thus creating an intimacy between the image and audience which sort of "breaks" the screen to enfolds us into their journey. The unique documentary-esque narration additionally juxtaposes the innocent reality of the main story vs the literal reality around them - allowing the background to introduce us to a universe full of intricacy and its done so with subtleness. What a bootyful road trip galore.
