Stephen Donnelly’s review published on Letterboxd:
I really love a director who has the confidence to just do away with exposition and let the film play out and You Were Never Really Here does so at a blistering pace. The film feels like a fever dream at times, snippets of trauma and horror seep into the present, but our main character pushes through it, focusing on his brutal goals. The score, coupled with the kinetic editing, really adds to intensity. The film is seedy, dangerous and brutal without apology. Great stuff.
