They did an immaculate job stylizing, shooting, and creating the perfect set for this movie. Often in film, raw emotion gets overshadowed by weirdly sterile environments for me. But everything about Happy Together felt incredibly personal and I love seeing two Asian men in love, even in toxic relationships. It gives me hope we can work toward a better narrative in media that portrays Asian men as rightfully desired and humanized. The soul and imperfection in the main characters is something that makes them relatable for me. But can we have something similar to this in 2021 with an actual healthy romance? thx.
