Evan “Kaizō Haya-shill” Pincus’s review published on Letterboxd:
A slow, sad little movie. Cox's first film in exile is a bit of a forgotten gem, his usual anarchic sense of humor almost entirely replaced by total cynicism- shocker, but noted punk filmmaker Alex Cox doesn't love cops. With the exception of a few clear gags (and a gutbuster of a pissed-off, in-your-face final shot), this is a bitter, angry 100 minutes, shot mostly in long, handheld shots against gorgeous scenery. Cox doesn't get the credit he deserves.
