Evan “Kaizō Haya-shill” Pincus’s review published on Letterboxd:
As far as movies in which Hollywood actors are kidnapped and end up associating with Marxists, I think this fares better than Hail, Caesar!, but when it comes to 2000's movies which breach the two hour mark, where actors are involved in labyrinthine conspiracies, and Rebekah Del Rio appears as herself to perform, I don't think this can beat Mulholland Drive. Similarly, while the better movie which features a glowing car flying over Los Angeles may be Repo Man, this certainly does more for me than Richard Kelly's other movie which prominently features an aviation disaster (although seeing that he's actually capable of humor almost makes me wonder if I'm misreading Donnie Darko's suffocating self-seriousness. Almost.).
