no matter how samey and offputtingly religious, i could watch these fuckin movies all day. move over Ben Platt. (also considering who Kurt Warner is, even as a non-religious person, if this 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘯'𝘵 faith-based it would be a slap in the face to him imho)

  • Hawkeye

finally finished it, and it just kept getting better and better! was super not into it at first, but the two main characters endeared themselves to me over time. the action ain't great, but the little mysteries and intrigue kept me engaged, with some cool little character moments. Tony Dalton is one of my favorite MCU characters no contest. it's solid! it's a solid television program. and tbh that's all you could really ask from Archer.

    tick, tick...BOOM!

    i liked the songs! :)

i think i should've connected to the theming (the tagline of the movie) a lot more than i did, but it all just kind of felt very theater kid-ish, and that's a vibe i don't fuck with. especially all the emotional, teary-eye headshakes of characters thinking "he actually did it...!" it's a bit much for me. also, in these films about writers, i can't shake the feeling that everyone that isn't the main character is…

    Don't Look Up

i always like movies like this that wear their hearts on their sleeve. will it change anything? i don't know, but maybe a big-budget film tackling climate change trending this big for this long is like... a good thing? like, obviously and unambiguously? not that you can't not like the movie, that's totally fine. but i also can't ignore that i'm seeing a good chunk of weird flexing about how this movie "isn't ACTUALLY gonna change anything" and it's kinda…

Aardman has made me very happy this day. i love that little rat.

  • Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas
  • Belle

maybe i just need to watch this again? for most of the film this felt like it was missing that Hosoda human touch. drama was happening, but it never felt truly empathetic in a way that digs at me. then the end happens, and it has me reconsidering the whole movie. not in that it makes me view the film in a completely different light. just that i feel after watching the ending, i would connect to where it's going…

  • Scream

i wish i had more to say other than i'm very happy for Scream fans. i just can't get fully into slashers, and metaness was charming to a point. but even though i liked it, i left with the feeling of "if i was into this, i would be into this.

One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island

i haven't seen a single second of One Piece in my whole life. i'm just watching this to be a Hasoda completionist. and i gotta say, this movie charmed my socks off. this show seems like an absolute blast! the theming near the end really caught me off guard with how much it resonated with me, and the swashbuckling hijinks before that was a frickin hoot. maybe the only Shonen show i've seen that i would call genuinely funny. i ain't gonna watch the 1,000+ episode series, but i'll support it from the sidelines.
