A bit too long, but a pretty decent payoff at the end. Very entertaining for the first hour, then sort of starts to drag.
At times slightly trite and very much full of itself. Still, I found it a very good film featuring several terrific performances from various castmembers and a fitting homage to a film and a bygone era of Hollywood. Granted, we know what Orson Welles felt about homage in cinema.
Ultimately I found the film most satisfying when looking at it as just a film, and not a retelling or a take on old Hollywood or the old icons of that time period.
