Julian’s review published on Letterboxd:
When this movie started I was HYPE, because for a few BLISSFUL moments it looked like this was the triumphant return of the high camp goofball Paul W S Anderson who gifted us Mortal Kombat. Alas. We QUICKLY pivot to the same old boring ass military shit he’s been shoveling low these many years. Here was the Paul W S Anderson of the now, with his pedantic regurgitation of other people’s ideas, frantic and incomprehensible shooting style and the DESPERATE need to keep convincing us his wife is cool.
The ultimate low point for me was when Milla, trapped in a world that is not her own and in the company of a native of that world, very quickly and happily presumes that the burden is on HIM to learn English.
