    the most artificial Fincher movie, from the cg hummingbirds and rocket ships to foghorn leghorn-lite accents to the digital faux film grain on the flashback sequences that would even make Mank defenders blush. i liked it a lot; simple emotions paired with simple symbols like water/boats and clocks/time bring a lot of interesting contradictions to the audacious, complicated filmmaking techniques employed.
