The Queen's Gambit ★★★½

Anya Taylor-Joy carried this no doubt about it. But what were the stakes of this. She wanted to win. If not she’d loose. Most of the characters are drawn at face value any changes happen in one line of dialogue the only deeper characters are Beth and her adopted mother.

I thought episode 5 and 6 where slower than the others. The final episode was fun and the match was good however when it finished it felt short lived as it doesn’t really amount to anything apart from the outcome for both characters as it was only a win loose outcome with no real consequences or rewards to either one.
