EJ Paras’s review published on Letterboxd:
You people weren’t kidding about the feet. So distracting, especially knowing it’s Tarantino.
The performances were great and some of the scenes were absolutely marvelous:
1. The ending
2. Spahn Ranch
3. DiCaprio’s self-loathing about his alcoholism followed by his great take for the Lancer tv show
There were more, but those three are worth calling out. Cinematography was gorgeous at certain points. Soundtrack really sucks you into the time period.
If you go into the movie more accepting of Tarantino’s quirks, it makes for a more satisfying experience. Scene to scene (vignette to vignette it sometimes feels more like), you feel the vibrancy of 60s Los Angeles.
DiCaprio & Pitt criminally didn’t have enough scenes together.
I should re-watch it again.
