But Julio and Tenoch didn't take Luisa's advice...

This film is beautiful in its authenticity. I can't say much more. We know Alfonso Cuarón loves his long takes that help pull the audience in and mesmerize them.

This movie does a great misdirection (I can’t really call it that since there are tell-tale signs throughout the movie of the relationships of our characters; but it’s as if the audience is in denial of the “truth” as much as our leads — could be speaking just from my POV) and ends so much more bittersweetly than you'd think. Beautiful.
