    A minor miracle of a movie, given that the tone is so delicate, and the threshold between emotional resonance and freewheeling lunacy so dangerously precarious, but Garrone achieves the commendably ambitious feat of making his adaptation not only terrifying, but heartwarming, cute, funny, and also terrifying.
