I would have liked it more if the rapist and corrupt were exposed publicly rather than killed.
When it comes to the reviews upset about the "social justice," aspect of this film, I think the rape/revenge ghost story makes absolute sense. I didn't feel the movie was "preaching," it felt like a natural part of the story.
Stay Out of the Attic has good bone structure but lacks muscular definition.
What it gets right:
-decent pace and a plot that follows through
-Nazis are bad
-its heart is in the right place (I hope)
What it gets wrong:
-Heavily punctuated themes/messages that end up hollow
-It's a story we've seen before (a lot)
-Not as scary as it should be
-Stiltedly written dialogue
-Mid movie it feels like they switch protagonists
