There was both too much and not enough going on at the same time. Loved all the colors of the nighttime Hong Kong fight, and the Hollow Earth is pretty sick.

Miss this strange period of movie musicals adapted from rock musicals. This one is more successful for me than Hair or Godspell, I think, based on the cinematography and genuinely interesting staging via the locations. Definitely a precursor to the music videos/visual albums done by folks like Solange.

Just so unnecessary in every way (including what they did to Hugh Grant's hair) and with sluggish pacing.
