This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

    This was a pleasant surprise.
I've expressed my dissatisfaction with superhero films, the over saturation of the genre in the past decade or so, and the complete lack of originality of these productions that always rely on the same old tropes. Now, this isn't perfect by any means but it is very entertaining and quite an improvement from the 2017 theatrical release. It's always a good thing to be able to watch a director's vision come to light as it was intended.

As brief as their interventions were, I still loathe Jesse Eisenberg and Jared Leto's take on their respective characters.

Agnès Varda reflects on memory and time through photography, that static image that constitutes a vestige of the past, a piece of reality engraved by light for posterity. The filmmaker meticulously reconstructs the context of the photograph with the intention of endowing it with meaning and deciphering what lies behind it while evoking memories. Ulysse is a work of great beauty and simplicity, a cinematographic exercise about images, their nature, limits, and capacity to capture reality.

A few days ago, Guillermo del Toro expressed in an interview that he tries to keep the plot of his films as simple as possible and thus be able to focus on the visual aspect; personally, it seems to me that right there lies the biggest flaw in his latest feature film, a simple and predictable story, a little longer than necessary and, although visually attractive, very conventional. The interviewer mentioned that this is a very complex film with several…
