    Funny Face

The central conceit of this movie (that Audrey Hepburn looks like a weirdo and isn't the most beautiful person in the world) is the most absurd thing I've ever seen in a movie, and earlier today I watched Woody Harrelson stick his tentacles in a gas station laptop and say "Y'all got them internets?"

  • The Many Saints of Newark

    The Many Saints of Newark

I don't know how well this works just as a standalone gangster film for anyone who hasn't seen the show despite it being a prequel, but as a huge fan of the show: I had a good time!

  • Venom

The black comedy parts of this are good. The superhero parts are boring. The symbiotes do look dope tho. I hope the second one leans into the comedy more!!

Also I hate that I enjoy the end credits song. Love a movie theme song that just describes the characters and plot

  • Annette

Well can't say I've ever seen anything like this

Really bizarre and full of absurdity, you kinda just have to let it take you on its ride and you'll enjoy yourself. It touches on several familiar tropes but the way it reaches them is certainly not familiar.

Gotta say I did enjoy most of the music a lot. Surprisingly operatic (or maybe I just didn't know what I was getting into and shouldn't have been surprised lol) but with a few bangers thrown in there too.

Also I'm a Baby Annette stan now

Rewatched in anticipation of the sequel this weekend. It's still fine! Fairly good! Love when those nasty things open their nasty heads up

  • Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar

Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar

Bonkers that a studio made this movie in the 2020s but it is a lot of fun!

  • Zack Snyder's Justice League

    Zack Snyder's Justice League

Can't believe I actually thought this was decent??

Honestly thought this would be a huge slog, and while there are scenes that drag on too long (mostly action ones), I admit I never felt bored during the four hours which is more than I can say for most of the other DCEU movies.

Even though Snyder doesn't totally hit the mark here or in his previous two DC movies, I do think what he was going for is interesting and unique and I'm somewhat disappointed we won't get to see the storyline through to the end but oh well

  • The Witches of Eastwick

    The Witches of Eastwick

the title makes it sound like a roald dahl story or something but it definitely is not
