My interest in this film disappeared almost as fast as Elba's US accent. I think he has done one good thing - Luther - and has now slid towards mediocrity by appearing in ads for Murdoch's Sky channel in the UK. I guess that role as Bond ain't ever going to happen. Disappointed that Taraji P Henson lent her name to this as she can do - and has done - better.
Yawn. A film in which nothing of note really happens. It was - to me - incredibly pretentious and with ideas well above its station. Theme of aliens arriving on Earth been done so much better elsewhere. The only saving grace for me was falling asleep about an hour in and waking only when the end credits were rolling. Can a film with Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker really be this bad? Yes.
My son believes his sister needs to have certain films on her CV - Commando, Demolition Man etc - and this. Terrible acting, terrible dialogue, terrible hairstyles and a pointless script. However, any film with Ernest Borgnine and the voice of Chef from South Park cannot be totally terrible.
