    Parasite

    ★★½

Set in the far future of... 1992. This could be the forerunner of the RESIDENT EVIL films with its plot involving a dystopian future, bioweapons, and an evil corporation. Sadly, it's underdeveloped and I wished I had seen it in 3-D. With a young Demi Moore and two former Runaways (Cherie Currie and Cheryl Rainbeaux Smith).

    Colombiana

    ★★★½

Essentially a reworking of LEON (and its unfilmed sequel). A little girl in Colombia sees her family killed by his former employer. Her father gave her a memory card which he refers to as her "passport". She fees the killers and heads for the U.S. embassy. Once in the U.S., she escapes and heads to Chicago to find her uncle (who she hopes will train her to be a killer). Now an adult, she becomes a hitwoman in order to…

    Zombie Flesh Eaters

    ★★★★

aka ZOMBIE and ZOMBI 2. Fulci's (if not mankind's) greatest cinematic achievement ever because... zombie vs.. shark! Stars Mia Farrow's sister Tisa (ANTHROPOPHAGUS), Ian McCulloch (CONTAMINATION), and Richard Johnson (DEADLIER THAN THE MALE). Essential grindhouse film.

Yeti: The Giant of the 20th Century

Laughably bad Italian film about an unfrozen yeti. The yeti is about the size of a small kaiju, like in WAR OF THE GARGANTUAS. While this is an obvious KING KONG ripoff, it also steals from... LASSIE! Only nice thing I can say about this is that it's better than the sleep inducing THE SNOW BEAST.

  • That Guy Dick Miller

    That Guy Dick Miller

    ★★★★

I'll flat out say it: if you don't know who Dick Miller then you have no business calling yourself a film fan. This documentary covers Miller's life in three stages. In the first stage he winds up in California and becomes an actor, mainly with director Roger Corman. Miller becomes both a lead (ROCK ALL NIGHT, WAR OF THE SATELLITES and, his most iconic role, A BUCKET OF BLOOD) and a memorable supporting actor (LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS). When Corman…
