    This is my second Pawlikowski film, after Cold War, and I watched it because I wanted more of that gorgeous black and white photography of Eastern Europe. And also because I love movies about nuns. And what a gem this was.

    I love a good witch story, so I watched the first two Fear Street episodes mostly to get to this one, because I knew it dealt with the witch hysteria that peaked in the late 1600s. I thought the first two were barely average, but they were necessary to build up to this one, so I stuck with them. And was the payoff worth it? I will answer with a qualified “yes”.
