2019 - History Of Horror - Complete

Original List
My second time doing this. 🎃
Somehow, fuck knows how, I managed to complete last years on time.

  • Evil Dead II

    1.Evil Dead II

    A Personal Favourite

When you watch Evil Dead, you’ve got to follow it up with Evil Dead 2.

Especially if you’re watching movies through Raw cause of the insane amount of adverts that you mute, but at least we got to see Finn eventually get that match for the Universal Title.

    Slasher

I was holding off for as long as possible to start the Halloween series this October, and this is as far as I got.

Sat down with a latte of the pumpkin variety of spiceness and set the mood lighting to a Jack o lantern orange glow.

    Perfection.

Me by the end of it.

It’s fucking awful and I don’t know why it needed to exist.

But yeah by the end I sort of dug it. In all it’s crap-tasticness but I don’t wanna go near it again.

Don’t. Just don’t. I’m going through some of this years lists and seeing what I can squeeze in before the end of the year to finish (haha yeah right) some of them.

This is one I forgot to log that I can put on my History of Horror list.

Watched the cut on iplayer with the extra footage not on my old vhs or my bluray (somehow I skipped buying the dvd it seems)

I first saw this documentary on the bbc whenever it first aired and before I was allowed to watch The Exorcist.

My mother bought me The Exorcist, along with Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2 that year on vhs, I’ve never looked back.

Stumbled upon this on amazon, love this sort of nostalgic shit.

I miss the hunt for movies at the local rental shops, I miss the artwork, I miss the Friday and Saturday sleepovers where we would argue over the movie we rented and blamed each other if it’s crap (I always picked weird horror or that one time was responsible for everyone but me hating Rushmore), the old posters they’d let you have, the toffee popcorn bought from a rental store (or Odeon) tasted nicer back then, I miss how movies and watching them felt somehow more special back then.

I wasn’t happy that one dude had bare feet whilst being interviewed. Socks. At least please.
